Government officials make drivers turn back as India imposes coronavirus restrictions

Footage shows a furious official in India flagging down motorists and asking them to go back as the country tries to stop the spread of COVID-19.

In the video, a man, referred to as a district collector by onlooker Agasthya Kantu, stops and argues with anyone who tries to get past him.

The video was taken in Sircilla town in Telangana district of India on March 23.

Several states in India have announced complete lockdown until the end of March in response to the coronavirus pandemic, which has so far infected 519 people and killed 10 in the country.
