Gordon Lam surprised by Golden Horse nomination

26 Oct – Gordon Lam recently admitted that he is elated to be nominated in the Best Actor category at the Golden Horse Awards for the first time in his career.

As reported on Mingpao, the actor, who spoke about his nomination for his role in "Hand-Rolled Cigarette" stated that the news came as a surprise to him as he previously failed to secure a nomination at the said awards for his award-winning performances in "Election" and "Trivisa".

"I never thought I would be nominated this time, so it was really a pleasant surprise. I remember that I injured my eye shooting a scene involving fireworks. I spent two hours with the doctor before returning to set to resume filming," he said.

Asked if he would travel to Taiwan to attend the event, Gordon sadly said that he is unsure as to whether he will be able to make the trip due to his busy schedule.

"I still have five more projects to complete. Moreover, my project with Patrick Tse is also still in post-production. We still have to discuss distribution issues," he added.
