Good Morning Britain presenter Adil Ray had a rather embarrassing moment when a NSFW answer popped up on his daytime quiz show Lingo.

The host was left red-faced when a contestant on the show spelt out the word 'boner', filling in the blanks between B, E and R.

Worse still, Adil even had to read out the definition of the word, but he cunningly managed to avoid any further embarrassment by describing it as a "mistake or blunder".

Viewers were naturally in hysterics, with one tweeting: "Well... innocently watching daytime tv show #lingo and came across some questionable words PRICK, FLAPS and now this #boner. I’m hooked!"

The daughter of the contestant even tweeted: "So my parents went on @lingo_tvuk where my dad said boner, prick and flaps, my mum also said "quim" but that wasn't allowed they had to cut the scene of them all in hysterics laughing for about 10 mins."

Another cheekily added: "You handled Simon's 'BONER' very professionally there @adilray well played."

The ITV gameshow airs every day at 3pm, with the contestants challenged to work out the words in the Lingo grids and puzzlewords.

They're given just the first letter of words of different lengths, and have the option to cash in if they guess the word correctly.

Lingo airs weekdays at 3pm on ITV.
