Good Morning Britain has been hit with complaints over an interview with Meghan Markle’s estranged dad.

Thomas Markle sounded off about his daughter on the ITV programme on 19 October.

However, plenty of people were unimpressed with his remarks and posted messages on social media criticising the fact that he had gone on television to talk about his daughter.

Broadcasting watchdog Ofcom has now said it has received 55 complaints about the episode.

During the interview, Markle discussed his daughter and her husband Prince Harry and indicated that he wanted to see his grandchildren Archie and Lilibet.

He said his daughter had “changed” when she got together with Harry and also claimed that she had “pretty much disowned both sides of her family”.

Markle also accused the couple of doing everything for money, saying Harry’s upcoming book was about money – despite the fact that the royal is donating the proceeds to charity.

Meghan spoke about her father in her explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey earlier this year, revealing that she felt betrayed over him talking to the press.

Talk show star Winfrey asked if there was a sense of betrayal and Meghan said: “If we were going to use the word betrayal, it’s because when I asked him, when the comms team told us this the story was coming out, we called my dad and I asked him and he said, ‘No, absolutely not’.”
