Gondoliers clear trash from Venice's canals
STORY: Diving in the waters of the lagoon city during the clean-up operation, the scuba divers retrieved a large number of tyres, mobile phones, a ladder, ropes, tree trunks, and metal objects.
The divers dived near the bridges of ''San Moise'', the ''Maria Callas'' bridge, the ''Storto'' and the ''San Cristoforo'' bridges, collecting objects and rubbish for about six hours, in an attempt to preserve the fragile environment that characterises Venice, beloved around the world for its canals, historic architecture and art.
