GMB panellist Narinder Kaur slammed for making 'vile' remark about Princess of Wales
Good Morning Britain panellist Narinder Kaur has sparked a furious backlash for “vile” comments she has made about the Princess of Wales.
After Kate Middleton appeared at Remembrance Sunday commemorations at the Cenotaph, Ms Kaur wrote on social media site X that the princess has “aged so much”.
Ms Kaur, 51, who appears as a commentator on shows including GMB, GB News and Loose Women, wrote: “Genuine question – why has Kate aged so much? Isn't she only 42? Is she a smoker? It's the only explanation.”
The princess is making a slow return to royal duties after her cancer diagnosis earlier this year.
Ms Kaur’s tweet prompted a social media frenzy, with outraged fans describing the comments as “disgusting” and “vile”.
One wrote on X: “SHE HAS BATTLED CANCER. I cannot tell you how offensive you are being,” with another sarcastically adding: “I don’t know, maybe she’s had cancer for the past year.”
Remembrance Day was the first time Kate has carried out two consecutive days of engagements since revealing earlier this year she was being treated after her cancer diagnosis.
Former Big Brother contestant Ms Kaur later admitted the tweet about Kate’s appearance was “stupid” in a video posted on the social media platform, before hitting out at trolls who had sent her “violent abuse from accounts with EDL flags, Union Jacks”, including racist abuse.
The TV personality said: “I thought I'd do a quick video instead of tweet after tweet, because it becomes pretty ridiculous – as if it wasn't ridiculous enough already.
“I put out a stupid tweet. That wasn't my intention, my intention was not to be malicious or nasty or anything.
“I'm not like that, anybody who knows me. It was stupid to ask about the ageing. I've admitted that, I've put my hands up and apologised if it caused offence.”

Ms Kaur added that her brother went through “brutal treatment of chemo” ahead of his death, saying it can have a toll on people, but insisted her tweets were not made in reference to cancer.
However, in the same video, Ms Kaur accused Kate of having “a lot of privilege” for not having to work while she received treatment for cancer.
And, claiming that a lot of the comments she had received in response to her original tweet were about Meghan Markle, she added: “What's Meghan got to do with it?”
The commentator accused her critics of “pitting Kate against Meghan”, saying: “You exposed your narrative. You exposed that what this was all about was I as a brown woman, an Indian, had the gall to criticise Kate's appearance.”
On Sunday evening, the broadcaster doubled down on earlier comments, with a stream of additional tweets about the backlash she has faced.
In response, one X user said: “Take a break from X tonight. Your countless tweets since you were called out are just showing how guilty you feel for the original vile comment.”
“I don't.. I'm mad at the racists. Not going ANYWHERE,” Ms Kaur responded.
Kate had joined the King and her husband the Prince of Wales in London yesterday as they led the nation in remembering Britain’s war dead.
Wearing a black, military-style jacket with epaulettes, she could be seen wearing her traditional three poppies as she joined the nation in two minutes of silence.
She viewed the Remembrance Sunday service from a government building balcony overlooking the Cenotaph.
In the wake of Kate completing a course of cancer treatment, the Prince of Wales said at the end of his visit to South Africa that he hoped to carry out overseas tours with the princess .
His hopeful comments come after he spoke candidly of how 2024 has been "brutal" and "probably been the hardest year in my life", with his wife and his father both diagnosed with cancer.
Kate, who is in recovery, and Charles, who is still having treatment for the disease, also attended the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance on Saturday evening.
