Glowing Lava and Ash Erupt From Spain's La Palma Volcano

Glowing lava and ash shot out of the Cumbre Vieja volcano in La Palma, Spain, on the evening of Friday, November 5.

The European Union’s Copernicus satellite program said the volcano’s lava flow covered 990.7 hectares (3.8 square miles), and destroyed 2,581 buildings by Thursday.
