Glen Powell and Adria Arjona turned to social media for some spicy influence while making Hit Man.

Powell, 35, and Arjona, 32, revealed to Variety that the latter came up with an inventive way for them to set the mood — creating a Pinterest board.

According to the publication, the two stars and director Richard Linklater collaborated on a board on the website that allowed them to compile images from their favorite movies and art that would inform their decision-making process on the romantic elements of Hit Man.

“Everyone finds different things sensual,” Arjona explained of her reasoning behind the method. “It was interesting to see both of our perspectives, hone in and start molding it from that sense. It sparked conversations that you wouldn’t normally have, because we were in the process of creating it."

“So often, sex scenes feel almost divorced from the movie, like a marketing play or it feels icky,” Powell noted. “In this movie, those scenes are crucial in the changing and seizing of identity. You have to see a guy who sees the world in such a binary, stale place checking logic at the door and becoming a whole new person. This romantic relationship is really expediting it. It’s the catalyst for everything.”

However, in trying this new method, Arjona noted that she didn't think ahead to bringing the group's fantasies to life when filming began. “It was three brains working, and then it was like, ‘Oh, wait, I’m the one that has to put the flight attendant outfit on now.’ I’m like, ‘Oh, God, I did this to myself,’ ” she shared.

Arjona added, “It was beautiful and intentional. It didn’t feel like we were just doing sex scenes just to do sex scenes; it came from a creative place.”

Elsewhere in that same interview, the two revealed that they experienced rashes while filming a scene in which they soaked in a bathtub due to a member of the crew having put Dawn dishwashing soap in the tub beforehand.

"I was in so much pain. I have a rash everywhere, and Glen is trying to take care of me and then he turns around and I'm like, 'Glen, you have the exact same rash, dude. I don't know what to tell you,' " Arjona recounted of the incident. As a result, both stars were sent to have makeup applied to the rashes, and then filmed "all of our sex scenes" for the rest of the movie the same day.

"All of them with a crazy rash. So it looks so sexy, but we were both in so much pain. We would just die laughing of like, 'How much makeup do you have on your ass right now?' I was like, 'So much it's not even funny,' " she shared.

Hit Man is available to stream on Netflix now.
