Giorgio Petrosyan Sends Reassuring Message To Concerned Fans

·1-min read

Last Friday, 15 October, at ONE: FIRST STRIKE, Giorgio “The Doctor” Petrosyan succumbed to his first loss in nearly eight years.

The Italian-Armenian suffered a second-round knockout at the hands of the former #2-ranked featherweight kickboxer Superbon, who, with the victory, won the inaugural ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Championship and put himself at the top of the division.

Petrosyan suffered a broken jaw from the high kick that finished him in their main event clash and was sent to the hospital, where he underwent surgery.

“Yesterday evening, my jaw was fixed with two plates. The surgery went well. I feel better already. Thanks to all for the support. I will keep you updated,” Petrosyan said in an Instagram post.

The response to his message was positive and filled with well-wishers, showing that Petrosyan, who has been a staple in the kickboxing world for nearly two decades, remains loved and respected throughout the global fan base.

Aside from being a Kickboxing World Champion, “The Doctor” is also the 2019 ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix Winner. Despite his loss to Superbon, his record after the fight stands at a staggering 104-3-2 (2 NC).
