Gin Lee on leaving Universal: I want to challenge myself
23 May – Gin Lee has recently dismissed the notion that she departed from Universal Music due to dissatisfaction for not getting good results in major music awards.
The Malaysian singer, who bid her farewell to Universal last week after eight years of collaboration, spoke to the media at the press conference of TVB's "STARS Academy 2", saying that she mainly wanted to change to a new environment and challenge herself.
Said Gin, "In fact, it was not easy for me to make this decision. We have worked together for eight years and I am grateful to the company for cultivating me."
"So, at this stage, I really want to make more impact for myself," she added.
As for winning awards, Gin said it is important as it is an affirmation, but that she would keep working hard even if she is not awarded.
Aside from Gin, Priscilla Chan was also revealed to have left the said record label.
