Giants’ Darren Waller Releases New Song About Failed Relationships After Kelsey Plum Divorce
Titled "Who Knew (Her Perspective)", Waller, 31, sings and raps about "healing" from relationships gone bad
New York Giants tight end Darren Waller is focusing on making music following his recent divorce from WNBA star Kelsey Plum — and he just released a new track all about failed relationships.
In the song titled "Who Knew (Her Perspective)," Waller, 31, sings and raps about “healing” from relationships gone bad, which many believe is about his marriage to Plum, which lasted just a year.
Waller, who said that the song is written from the perspective of a woman who wants to love him, told TMZ Sports about the meaning and motivation behind the ballad.
"I’ve struggled with intimacy in romantic relationships my whole life, and I recognize the toll it has taken on the lovers I’ve been close to. Essentially, I’m telling myself, from the damage I’ve done, that it’s imperative for me to heal the wounds in my life I’ve been avoiding by seeking relationships," he said.
"As the song is an attempt to see things from the woman’s perspective, the video is an extension of that, ending with me being alone and wondering why they wounded me and left me there," Waller added.

Waller and Las Vegas Aces star Plum, 29, officially filed for divorce on April 23 in a joint petition in Clark County, Nevada, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE.
Just after the filing, Plum shared a heartbreaking message on social media. "I'm devastated. I walked through fire for that man, but now I see it's time to go," she wrote on Instagram Stories.
"God has given me an incredible life, and I'm truly so grateful for the profound love from my family and friends," she continued.
"One day I'll share my story, today is not that day. Thank you for the grace to process my pain, to forgive and move forward. Today and everyday I will continue to choose joy. Much love KP."
