Georgia Church Tents Destroyed by Severe Weather

Cleanup operations were underway in Newnan, Georgia – a city in the Atlanta metro area – on Friday, March 26, after it suffered “catastrophic” damage following a tornado-warned storm, local media said.

The City of Newnan said it had “experienced heavy damage in and around the historic downtown area” due to the severe weather and said both “city and county crews are en route and working on scene to clear impacted areas.”

Local media reported that officials said at least one person died in Newnan during the storms on March 25 and 26.
