  • George W. Bush announced the release of a new book of paintings that focuses on the lives of American immigrants.

  • The book will be titled Out of Many, One and will be available in March 2021.

George W. Bush might be a former governor and president but, as it turns out, he’s a current painter—and a mighty good one at that.

On Thursday, August 6, George took to Instagram to share a little secret about how he’s been spending his time—both in quarantine and well before.

“For the past 18 months, I’ve been painting the portraits and writing the stories of 43 immigrants I have come to know,” he captioned the photo of himself painting in his studio. “Today, I’m pleased to announce a new book and exhibit at [The Bush Center] honoring new Americans who have contributed to the cultural richness, economic vitality, entrepreneurial spirit, and renewed patriotism of our country. As I said from the Oval Office in 2006, ‘America can be a lawful society and a welcoming society at the same time.’”

While you can pre-order his new book now, it won’t be available until March 2, 2021.

“My hope is that Out of Many, One will help focus our collective attention on the positive effects that immigrants have on our country,” he continued in his caption.

This isn’t the first time George has released a book of paintings. He also showcased his artistic skills with his 2017 book, Portraits of Courage: A Commander in Chief’s Tribute to America’s Warriors.

In other words, if you’re looking for some conversation-starters in your living room, consider George’s books for your next coffee table purchase.
