Milley spoke with U.S. military police at Ramstein Air Base in Germany, where he told them they should be proud of taking part in the biggest airlift in American history.
"It's a remarkable thing. It was unbelievably well done… It showed tremendous courage and discipline and capability," Milley said.
Roughly 124,000 people were evacuated from Kabul in the massive U.S.-led airlift after the Taliban took control.
The Department of Defense released video of evacuees arriving at Ramstein Air Base in Germany as well as at Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico.
