Malaysia-based organisation Geek Fam announced on Friday (12 December) that they have signed Eric "ReiNNNN" Khor, former Fnatic team director for Southeast Asia, to be their new Head of Esports.

Khor stepped down from his position in Fnatic on 30 November after six years with the organisation.

He was instrumental in turning Fnatic's Southeast Asian Dota 2 team into a perennial powerhouse in the region since he joined the organisation in 2015.

With Khor's move to Geek Fam, many within the Southeast Asian Dota 2 community are expecting the organisation will soon be making its return to the game.

Geek Fam first became active in Dota 2 back in 2016 and enjoyed modest success until 2020, when its roster of Marc Polo "Raven" Fausto, Karl "Karl" Jayme, Carlo "Kuku" Palad, Kenny "Xepher" Deo, and Matthew "Whitemon" Filemon elevated the team to one of the best in Southeast Asia.

However, the organisation released its Dota 2 roster on September 2020 due to uncertainty in the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) after the 2020 season was canceled by the coronavirus pandemic.

Geek Fam's last iconic roster has since flourished with different teams, with Raven now with Fnatic while Karl, Kuku, Xepher, and Whitemon signed with T1.

While Geek Fam has been out of the Dota 2 scene for over a year now, the organisation remains active in mobile esports.

It is currently operating teams in League of Legends: Wild Rift, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, PlayerUnknown's Battleground Mobile, and Free Fire in Malaysia and Indonesia.
