'Game of Thrones' Emilia Clarke 'at peace' with her ending ahead of 'House of the Dragon' prequel
Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke has said she’s "at peace" with the upcoming prequel House of the Dragon which depicts the ancestry of her character.
The actress played ‘Mother of Dragons’ and Dothraki leader Daenerys Targaryen, who was seen as a hero throughout the eight seasons of the show’s main run.

While Daenerys’ fate on the main series left viewers massively divided, Clarke said she’s happy with the end of her time in the Westeros fantasy epic - and though the ending may have been not what everyone wanted, she’s letting go of her breakthrough role.
That is, until the final few episodes in which she became bloodthirsty in her quest to become the ruler of the Seven Kingdoms, ultimately dying in her attempt.
Speaking to Hollywood Reporter, Clarke said: “I have too many emotional reactions for what Emilia, herself, was experiencing at that moment in time when we were filming it. You know what I mean?
"I watch a scene and I go, ‘Oh, that was when [such and such] happened,’ which you didn’t see on screen.”
“I think there’s something timely about the prequels and the continuation of the Game of Thrones story coming about now,” she continued. “I look at it and I’m like, ‘Wow, yeah.’ So I see it with only peace.
“I’m still friends with people from the show, and I know I will be friends with these people until the day I die.”
The first major Game of Thrones spin-off, titled House of the Dragon, is currently in production in London.
It will be set centuries before the events of the main series, and will follow the Targaryen clan during the formation of the Seven Kingdoms.

As a result, Clarke will not be present in the series at all.
House of the Dragon will be based around George RR Martin novel Fire and Blood, which resulted in a fierce inter-family war which later became known as the Dance of the Dragons.
Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Rhys Ifans, Emma D’Arcy and Paddy Considine lead the all-star cast.
Game Of Thrones: House Of The Dragon is set for release in 2022.
