Gaggle of Geese Walks Across Frozen Brooklyn Lake Just Before Nor'easter Strikes

A gaggle of Canada geese walked across a frozen lake in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park on January 31, ahead of a nor’easter that brought several inches of snow to New York City.

A nor’easter brought strong winds and heavy snowfall to New York City on February 1, the National Weather Service reported. The NWS said the storm could dump up to 24 inches of snow across the region, with “near blizzard conditions” in some areas.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio restricted “all non-emergency travel” after 6 am on Monday in anticipation of heavy snow and strong winds.
