GACKT resumes work with "Fly Me to the Saitama 2"

4 Oct – Now that he is doing much better, GACKT is back to working again, and this includes resuming the filming of his new movie, "Fly Me to the Saitama II".

The news was shared by the Japanese singer recently, saying, "I was on hiatus due to poor health, but thanks to you, I was able to come back in good shape. Filming for the sequel has finally resumed. Please look forward to my next project."

It was last summer that the producers of "Fly Me to the Saitama" announced that filming is underway for the sequel to the hit movie, only for it to be halted due to GACKT's health issue.

After about a year, the singer has now resumed his activities, and will continue to work alongside the cast and crew that include Fumi Nikaido in the lead role as Momomi Dannoura.

The first film, released in 2019, is based on the 1980s manga series of the same name by Maya Mineo. The movie received 12 nominations at the 43rd Japan Academy Film Prize, and won Best Film at the Blue Ribbon Awards.
