Furry friends receive blessings at Lima monastery

This annual mass is for

the “Blessing of the Animals”

St. Francis of Assisi

DOG OWNER, MAGALY ROJAS, SAYING:

"I'm very excited because he's a part of my family. Like the writer Rosa Montero used to say - I can't conceive life without dogs."

Last year, the mass was cancelled

PRIEST, REINALDO GAMARRA, SAYING:

"We have decided to resume this activity. Because of COVID-19 all of the liturgic acts of blessings, mass, baptisms have been stopped. The blessing of pets is a tradition and we wanted to reunite with our parishioners and with these little animals."
