Funnel Cloud Touches Down in Northern Colorado Amid Tornado Warnings

A storm chaser driving along Interstate 71 recorded a funnel cloud touching down southwest of Akron, Colorado, on May 10, amid a National Weather Service (NWS) tornado warning.

Logan Howard, who recorded the video, told Storyful that the funnel cloud “started out fairly weak but started to strengthen,” adding that it only “lasted several minutes.”

The NWS shared two reports of a tornado in the area that night.

On Thursday, the NWS issued multiple flash flood and severe storm warnings for parts of Colorado, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. Credit: Logan Howard via Storyful
