Frost Delays Start of PGA Championship in Rochester

Late-season frost settled in parts of New York state on Thursday morning, May 18, delaying tee times on the first day of the PGA Championship in Rochester, organizers said.

The second major of the golf season is taking place at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, and the PGA said tee times were delayed by almost two hours.

A freeze warning was in effect overnight Wednesday into Thursday for parts of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, the National Weather Service said.
