Friends walked 12 hrs to find help in Australia

The alarm was raised after three companions travelling with the pair walked for 12 hours to get help.

Their vehicle became stuck late on Sunday (December 27) and after spending the night in the car, three of the occupants left Monday morning to walk about 50 km (31 miles) to the city of Mount Isa for help.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter flew from Mount Isa to the location and found the father and son sitting on the roof of the vehicle, Australian media reported.

The pair were in good health and in no need for medical attention, local media added.
