Hundreds more people were forced from their homes on the Spanish island of La Palma on Tuesday, October 12, as the lava flow from the Cumbre Vieja volcano spread northwest towards the municipality of Los Llanos de Aridane.
Between 700 and 800 people were told evacuate, bringing the total number of people displaced by the eruption to about 6,800, according to El Pais.
Footage released by Spain’s Geological and Mining Institute (IGME) shows the molten lava flow.
