Music’s cool recluse Frank Ocean made a rare public statement last night following the first presidential debate, encouraging his followers to vote President Donald Trump out of office.

“Debates are on,” the singer, who barely uses social media, wrote in an Instagram Story Tuesday night. “It all feels fake. The problem’s that it’s not. Donald is president and might not even leave the White House if he loses the race some say. Pls vote. Watching him dragged out will be way more entertaining than these debates.”

Ocean also directed viewers to a link, blonded.co, where viewers can register to vote, check their registration statuses, view an early voting calendar, opt to vote by mail, get election reminders, and more. The form on the site “just takes 2 minutes to fill out. Goodnight,” he wrote.

This isn’t the “Thinking Bout You” singer’s first time getting involved in an election. During the 2018 midterms, he released exclusive merchandise promoting Democratic candidates Beto O’Rourke, Stacey Abrams, and Andrew Gillum. The pieces, and their matching stickers, were printed with the figure 42%, representing the percentage of voters who sat out of the 2016 election, Pitchfork reported.

He also spoke out about attempts to block voters in a political episode of his Blonded Radio show at the time. “Gerrymandering is voter suppression,” Ocean said, per The Fader. "Changing ID laws... We’re against voter suppression.”

He added, “People need to trust their common sense when it comes to things in politics. If it seems morally wrong... it is usually wrong.”
