Francesca Scorsese Calls TikToks with Dad Martin a 'Production,' Jokes He's 'Never Not in Director’s Mode' (Exclusive)
Francesca Scorsese tells PEOPLE that she doesn't need to convince her dad to star in her TikToks
Francesca Scorsese says that her dad Martin Scorsese is "never not in director's mode" when they make TikToks together.
PEOPLE caught up with the 24-year-old star at the Louis Vuitton opening of their 5th Avenue flagship store in New York on Nov. 14, where she opened up about the TikToks she's made with her famous dad, noting that he doesn't need to be convinced to be in videos with her.
"We talk about it first, and then it becomes a production," she says. "And then we're, like, 'Okay, no, we'll redo that. Okay, hold on. You sit here. No, we got the light here. Should we face this way?' It becomes like a whole thing."
Most recently the Killers of the Flower Moon director, 81, narrated one of Francesca's GRWM (get ready with me) TikToks on Nov. 10, where he joked about her "clown face" as she did her makeup.
Francesca tells PEOPLE she has considered him narrating a GRWM TikTok "for a long time" but "never got to doing it" until recently.
"I saw people having their friends do it, their parents, their boyfriends, and I was, like, 'You know what, he probably has no idea what I do to get ready. I have to see what he says. Or just what happens,' " she explains. "And so, I did it. And I think it turned out okay."
Martin first appeared in Francesca's TikTok videos in 2021 and she told PEOPLE back in February that she decided to recruit him for her videos "because we were sitting in our living room after dinner and I was bored and we weren't really doing anything."
"I realized those videos got a lot of likes and I was like, that's kind of crazy," she continued. "But also people really enjoyed seeing them. People love seeing him doing these things and the more normal side of him. People see this big, big star and incredibly talented person, which he is, but also [they see] the dad."
Since then, the acclaimed director has starred in many other TikToks with his daughter, including a sweet TikTok where she did his makeup in September. Francesca adds that while they've done many videos together, "He [still] doesn't comprehend it to a certain extent."
"I think he's a little thrown off by how fast-paced it is," she explains. "But I think he comprehends it [more now]" and also jokes that his own TikToks would end up being "three hours long" if he ever decided to make an account for himself.

Martin echoed that sentiment, telling PEOPLE on Nov. 14 that he would consider promoting his latest docudrama Martin Scorsese Presents: The Saints on TikTok, adding that he really enjoys making videos with Francesca.
“I didn't know about TikTok,” he said when he was first recruited by Francesca. “She said, ‘Dad, just do this for a minute.’ I did it, and then next thing I know, it's all over the world.”
While he is open to most of her ideas, Martin added that there were a few TikTok ideas he pushed back on. "I can't think of them right now, but [I’ll say,] ‘I think it's going too far, honey,’ " he said. "But you know, she's a good actor and she's got a great sense of humor. And there's a good rapport and I play off that.”
