Four people were rescued after floodwaters from the swollen River Nith inundated a premises in Dumfries, Scotland, on Thursday evening, October 28, police said.
According to Nithsdale Police, rescues were jointly carried out on the Whitesands, a riverside roadway in Dumfries, by Dumfries Community Officers and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS).
Video released by police just after 10 pm shows roads in the area submerged by water. Police asked people to avoid the area, and said the route was “unlikely to reopen in the near future.”
