KUANTAN, March 19 (Bernama) -- The Pahang government today announced four initiatives to assist those whose income adversely affected during the implementation of the Movement Control Order (MCO) following the COVID-19 outbreak.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said the initiatives include a special allocation of RM2 million from the state government and government-linked companies (GLCs) to be distributed to eligible individuals and the details would be determined later.
In addition, he said, the state government would expedite the payment of the general assistance scheme for April to be paid by March 27, to 2,895 recipients via the state Social Welfare Department.
"The Pahang State Development Corporation (PKNP) will also extend the period of tenant’s rental payment for their premises, while the part-time employees at the administration division of the State Secretary will receive full allowance throughout the MCO period," he told reporters here today.
Wan Rosdy also called on people and companies in Pahang to assist those adversely affected by the implementation of the MCO, which began yesterday until March 31, through a mechanism to be determined by the state Finance Office.
