Fossil Fuel Protesters Disrupting Traffic in London Move Aside for Ambulance

Climate activist group Just Stop Oil disrupted traffic on roads in London on Thursday, April 27, as they demanded that the government halt all new fossil fuel projects.

At 8 am, 56 Just Stop Oil supporters began “slow-marching” from four different locations around Westminster and Lambeth, marking their fourth day of disrupting key roads in London since Monday, the group said in a press release.

Footage by Just Stop Oil shows activists stepping aside for an ambulance. “We move for ambulances and other blue-light vehicles. Meanwhile, our government defunds them,” the caption read.

The Metropolitan Police tweeted that they were alerted to five slow marches in central London on Thursday morning and had deployed more than 100 officers to get protesters “out of the road.” Credit: Just Stop Oil via Storyful
