KUALA LUMPUR, April 27 — After losing touch for more than three decades, former electrical engineer Norasiah Jamil managed to meet up with her secondary school teacher Pak Lin Haw.

Norasiah, 53, had sought the help of social media users to locate Pak, 66, whom she last saw in 1987.

The duo finally met up on the second day of Hari Raya at Norasiah’s home at Indera Mahkota in Kuantan, Pahang, Harian Metro reported.

“I am glad to have finally meet Cikgu Lian Haw. We spoke about our days at SMK Alor Akar and about our family,” she said.

Norasiah, now a mother of two, took great pains to search for Pak as the former Chemistry teacher had assisted Norasiah to enrol in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).

Due to financial constraints, Norasiah had initially wanted to abandon plans to register for university.

However, Pak offered to help Norasiah, including topping up the money needed for the registration.

It was previously reported that Pak gave Norasiah RM400 while the rest were contributions from SMK Alor Akar’s Parents Teachers Association as well as loans from relatives.

Norasiah had then said without Pak’s help, she would not be able to register at UTM.
