Big Brother relationships aren't known for lasting, but Ryan Ruckledge and Hughie Maughan from the 2016 series are still together and are happy to be proving the doubters wrong, even if it wasn't easy at first.

Ryan, who was evicted on day 39 of 50, told The Sun that he suffered people commenting both on and off the show that he was "using Hughie because he was favourite" and that it made him feel "like [he] had to prove a point".

"But I was genuine," he continued. "I don't think the public connected with me and thought I was fake and wanted Hughie for air time, but they didn't know I was falling in love with him [and] felt embarrassed to say it on TV as I was scared of rejection!

"I love that we proved everyone wrong. Hughie moved to the UK to live with me and since then our families have met and spent Christmas and New Years together and get on great.

"We are currently in the process of setting a business up together and looking into having children together and maybe getting married."

He added that returning to a 'normal' job was tough after TV work dried up, but he feels like he won anyway because he met Hughie.
