KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 27 — Former Spanish national football star Gerard Pique has revealed his new love interest since his breakup with songbird Shakira in June last year.

The ex-Barcelona player took to his Instagram recently to show off his new girlfriend, 23-year-old Claria Chia Marti.

In the captionless post, Pique shared a snippet of him cosying up next to Marti, signalling a budding relationship between them as it is also the first time he featured her on his Instagram.

The post also came just two weeks after Shakira’s explosive BZRP Music Session #53 where the singer threw shade at her former lover.

In the track, Shakira was heard talking about her breakup while also throwing small jabs at Pique’s new girlfriend.

“Sorry baby, I should’ve booted you a while ago/ A she-wolf like me isn’t for rookies/ A she-wolf like me is not for guys like you/ I was out of your league, that’s why you’re with someone just like you.

“She’s got the name of a good person, clearly, it’s not how it sounds/ no hard feelings babe, I wish you good luck with my so-called replacement/ I’m worth two 22-year-olds, you traded a Ferrari for a Twingo,” she sang in the song.

The 45-year-old singer also mentioned about her ongoing tax fraud trial in Spain via the song.

“You left me with your mom as your neighbour/ the press at my door and a debt with the Treasury/ women no longer cry, women get paid,” she said.

This is not the first time Shakira has spoken her truth via her song as she did something similar in her song with Rauw Alejandro titled Te Felicito (I congratulate you) which was released in April last year, just after Pique’s cheating allegations started to surface, as reported by Buzzfeed.

According to People, Shakira and Pique first confirmed their relationship in March 2011 after the couple met on set of the singer’s Waka-Waka (This Time for Africa) music video shoot, which is also the official 2010 Fifa World Cup anthem.

The couple have two sons together, Milan and Sasha.

However, the power couple issued a joint statement in June last year, announcing their breakup after it was reported that the couple was seen living separately.

“We regret to confirm that we are separating. We ask for privacy at this moment for the well-being of our children, who are our maximum priority.

“Thank you in advance for understanding and respect,” the couple said in the statement.
