Footage Taken From Plane Captures Colorado Fires as Night Falls

Wind-driven fires burning in Boulder County, Colorado, sent thousands fleeing and were visible from passing airliners as night fell on December 30.

On Friday, officials said that the Marshall Fire, which heavily damaged areas in Superior and Louisville, destroyed at least 500 homes and possible as many as 1,000.

The Boulder Office of Emergency Management instructed residents not to return to evacuation zones a day after fires broke out.
