Florida Police Rescue Dog Left in 115-Degree Heat Inside Locked Car

Police in Sarasota, Florida, have released footage showing the rescue of a dog that had been left in a car where they said the temperature hit 115 degrees Fahrenheit (46 Celsius).

The bodycam footage, timestamped for May 11, shows the windows and doors of the car closed and locked.

An animal services officer who arrives at the scene says the dog is beginning to “go down” and officers break a car window to rescue it. After the car is opened, the animal services officer reports the temperature inside as 115 degrees.
