Florida Deputy Saves Three-Year-Old From Burning House

A sheriff’s deputy rescued a three-year-old boy from a burning house in Palm Coast, Florida, on October 17.

Deputy Marcus Dawson arrived at the scene of the fire, and while checking out the perimeter he noticed movement from inside the building, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office said.

Upon further inspection, he found a little boy hiding from the smoke under a blanket, watching cartoons on a phone.

The sheriff’s office said the father of the boy had gone to pick up dinner and left the child at home with an older sibling, before the fire ignited in the kitchen.

The youngster immediately received medical attention, and all three residents of the home were safe. Credit: Flagler County Sheriff’s Office via Storyful
