A deputy performed CPR to save a student who was having a “medical emergency” at a high school in Dover, Florida, on October 12, according to officials.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said this footage shows a student lying on the cafeteria floor of Strawberry Crest High School as School Resource Deputy Pedro Colon administers life-saving medical attention.
The sheriff’s office said the student, who was found having a seizure, was able to sit up after several minutes of first aid. The student was then taken to a nearby hospital.
“Deputy Colon’s quick call to action was heroic and saved this young man’s life. Had it not been for his efforts, we might be looking at a very different situation today,” Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post.
