Floodwaters Spill Through Streets in Arizona

Monsoon rain poured over central Arizona on September 23 and led to flash flooding in Apache Junction and Mesa, local media reported.

This footage is described as showing the flooding in Apache Junction, where multiple roads were inundated and police warned locals to “please take caution throughout the city,” according to AZ Family.

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Phoenix said a flash flood warning was in effect for multiple parts of Arizona, including Mesa, Apache Junction, and Central Phoenix.

“Flash flooding will likely result in road closures and cause area washes to run heavily. Unprepared motorists could become trapped within fast-flowing washes, necessitating water rescues. Water levels can rapidly rise and flow into area homes and businesses,” the NWS said. Credit: NICK C via Storyful
