Flooding Swamps Phoenix Streets

The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a flash flood warning for Phoenix, Arizona, on Saturday, July 30.

The NWS reported that the “thunderstorm activity on Saturday was widespread across the region” and recorded over 63,000 lightning flashes.

The Maricopa County Department of Transportation said the flooding caused road closures.
