STORY: Float builders are gearing up for NYC Pride
Robert DeVito’s company is
putting the finishing touches
Location: Clifton, New Jersey
on 30 floats for the upcoming march
It has built creations for the
parade since its inception in 1970
ROBERT DEVITO, OWNER, BOND PARADE FLOATS AND DISPLAYS INC.:
"It started out as a small parade. Five floats, to be exact, that year. And it's morphed into the biggest parade in New York City. It's morphed into our biggest parade. I mean, this is THE week."
There’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes
DeVito says some of designs
started as early as January
His float for the British consulate
will have 100 people marching nearby
