Flavor Flav Officially Teams with Red Lobster After Attempting to Save the Bankrupt Chain on Social Media
Flavor Flav previously went viral for ordering the entire Red Lobster menu at one location. Now he's helping the chain promote Crabfest
Flavor Flav is taking his Red Lobster fan status to a whole new level.
On Monday, June 10, the seafood chain unveiled a partnership with the hip-hop legend. The unlikely duo announced that Red Lobster’s Crabfest is officially back.
“Yeah Boyeeeee!” Flavor Flav, 65, exclaims at the start of the commercial. “When the internet said Red Lobster is going away, boy Flavor Flav said not today!”
After the chain filed for bankruptcy in May, Flavor Flav revealed on X that he had visited a Red Lobster location and, in an effort to keep the biscuits around, made a huge purchase. “Ordered the whole menu," he said at the time.
His enthusiasm for the brand shines even more in the Crabfest ad. “Crabfest is here boyee and they got two flavors – just like me, Flavor Flav,” he continues.
He announced the main flavors, roasted garlic and the new cajun butter, which he described as being part of the “most bonafide comeback yet.”
“It’s Crabfest at Red Lobster, boyeeeee,” he closes out the commercial. “When you got to have seafood, you got to have Red Lobster.”
At Crabfest, guests can order a full pound of steamed wild-caught crab legs with the flavor options or simply steamed. Red Lobster is also introducing a new $20 creamy crab carbonara, a new crab and lobster duo and a new snow crab and crab-topped steak.

Flavor Flav’s initial post about Red Lobster went viral for his pure dedication to the brand.
Alongside a photo of himself and two tables full of food — everything from chips and calamari to the chain’s titular crustacean — the rapper wrote, “Ya boy meant it when I said I was gonna do anything and everything to help @redlobster and save the cheddar bay biscuits.”
In an Instagram post containing the same photo, Flav revealed that he didn’t enjoy that many menu items all by himself — he brought his whole family to dine with him.
One of the musician’s daughters, Dazyna, hinted that she was there — and amplified her dad’s goal by sharing Flav’s post on her own Instagram account. "Save the biscuits!!!!” she wrote.
Flav’s attempt at helping Red Lobster comes after the company, which is known for its iconic biscuits and endless shrimp deal, filed for bankruptcy amid growing debt.
A May 19 court filing — which came just days after the chain shut dozens of restaurants — stated that the chain filed for voluntary Chapter 11 bankruptcy in Florida, according to the Associated Press.
In a statement shared the day of the filing, Red Lobster said it would "drive operational improvements, simplify the business through a reduction in locations, and pursue a sale of substantially all of its assets as a going concern."
