Flash floods submerge road after heavy rain in the Philippines

Drivers struggled to cross flooded roads after it rained heavily all night in the south of the Philippines Thursday (May 27). Onlooker Gal Stone captured the footage while on her way to work in Tabunok Talisay city, Cebu. She said: "I didn’t expect it to flood very high and rain very hard because it was summer. Fortunately, the rain also stopped after a few hours." The Philippines and other countries in Southeast Asia such as Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia are at the start of their tropical monsoon rainy season. Soaring temperatures reaching 35 degrees Celsius are often followed by powerful tropical storms with thunder, lightning, rain and flash floods.
