Five taken to hospital after chemical spill at Sherwood Industrial Estate in Bonnyrigg
Five people were taken to hospital after a chemical spill at an industrial estate in Midlothian.
Emergency services were alerted to the "spillage of potentially hazardous material" at Sherwood Industrial Estate in Bonnyrigg at around 10pm on Sunday.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) sent hazmat support and environmental protection and decontamination units to the scene.
Two fire appliances were also mobilised alongside three ambulances and three special operations response teams.
Emergency crews worked to contain the spill inside the business premises, while the five injured were treated at the scene by the Scottish Ambulance Service before being taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
The last appliance left the scene at 4.35am on Monday after the area was made safe.

A SFRS spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 10.01pm on Sunday 15 October to reports of a spillage of potentially hazardous material at a business premises in Sherwood Industrial Estate, Bonnyrigg.
"Two fire appliances and additional specialist resources including a hazmat support, environmental protection unit and decontamination unit were mobilised to the scene.
"Five casualties were treated at the scene by Scottish Ambulance Service and all subsequently transported to hospital.
"Emergency service crews worked to contain the chemical spillage internally and monitored the atmosphere to ensure the area was safe.
"The site was handed over to the dutyholder and the last fire appliance left the scene at 4.35am on Monday 16 October."
