First co-living space launched at Sky Suites @KLCC

Created to solve Malaysia’s housing problem, real estate platform Hom offers affordable co-living space, with the launch of its first unit within freehold apartment Sky Suites @ KLCC .

The company is also looking to launch units in Bangsar South as well as Mont Kiara in Kuala Lumpur, reported The Malaysian Reserve.

Hom Co-founder and CEO Felix Ferdinand said the company wants to empower the community via accessibility over homeownership.

“At Hom, we provide more than just space. We provide accommodation and on-demand services with the element of community,” The Malaysian Reserve quoted him as saying at the platform’s online venue launch.

In fact, Hom has repurposed and redesigned spaces for them to be more functional for millenials.

“We curated the space with a common area, where you can work from home,” said Ferdinand.

Moreover, the platform has a mobile application in which tenants and members can make payments, view on-demand services and accommodation listings as well as RSVP to community events offered by Hom.

Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd Group CEO Rafiza Ghazali, who was also at the launch, said co-living does not only provide residents with an opportunity to share living space, but also values and interests.

“Hom reinvents the way people live by making it easy to find flexible and affordable housing which is centrally located across the country,” she said.

Rafiza noted that co-living provides solutions to prohibitively high rents while offering leasing flexibility to young professionals.

“Hom’s unique technology matches roommates who share the same passion and emphasises that while co-living is about the community, it also supports individuality…It is about sharing rather than consumption, and collaboration rather than competition,” she said.
