Fires Burn in Lyon Amid May Day Protests

The local government condemned the “criminal behavior” amid May Day protests in Lyon, as they said fires were set near businesses in the city.

Footage recorded by @Bismuthback shows some of the damage in Lyon on Monday.

Local media reported that thousands were expected to take to the city’s streets as part of planned protests on International Workers’ Day.

By 10 am, the local government said on Twitter that violent individuals had caused damage to buildings and thrown projectiles at the police.
