Firefighting Planes Pour Retardant on Sicilian Mountains to Halt Blaze

Firefighting planes dropped retardant on a blaze burning on Monte Catalfano, located in northern Sicily’s Bagheria province, on May 4.

According to a press release from Italian firefighters Vigili del Fuoco, “several hectares of Mediterranean scrub” had been burning in the fire since the afternoon of May 3.
