Firefighters Thankful for Rain as Spanish Wildfire Brought Under Control

Rainfall has aided efforts to bring a large wildfire burning in Spain’s Malaga province under control, the Andalusian Forest Fire Service said early on September 14.

This footage, posted by the Andalusian Forest Fire Service on Twitter, shows firefighters tackling the flames.

The fire had burned over 24,000 acres and killed one person, El Pais reported on Tuesday.

While the fire was not yet completely extinguished, Juanma Moreno, president of Andalusia, tweeted that it had been brought under control thanks to the efforts of fire crews and the wet weather. Credit: Andalusian Forest Fire Service via Storyful
