Firefighters Show 'What NOT to Do' When Deep Frying a Turkey
Firefighters in California demonstrated the dangers of deep frying a frozen turkey as Thanksgiving approached.
Footage released by the Bakersfield Fire Department shows flames leaping from an overfilled fryer after the turkey is put in.
The department captioned the video, “what NOT to do when deep frying a turkey.” They reminded cooks to ensure a turkey is completely thawed before cooking.
“The National Fire Protection Association say deep fryers cause an average of 5 deaths, 60 injuries and more than $15 million in property damage each year,” they said. Credit: Bakersfield Fire Department via Storyful
