In the early hours of Saturday, March 11, specially trained firefighters searched for people in Pajaro, California, after the Pajaro River levee broke and caused flooding in parts of Monterrey County.

Footage released by Oakland USAR Task Force 4 shows firefighters navigating flooded streets, checking submerged vehicles as they pass.

Mandatory evacuation orders were issued for Pajaro on Saturday, affecting some 1,700 residents in the farming community, local media reported. Credit: Oakland USAR Task Force 4 via Storyful
