Firefighters Rescue Residents From Deadly Flooding in China's Henan Province

Flooding trapped people across Zhengzhou, China, on Tuesday, July 20, rescue footage shows. At least one person had died in the flooding, and two were missing, local reports said.

This footage released by the Henan Fire Brigade shows rescue efforts on Tuesday.

The first clip, taken on Tuesday morning, shows residents being rescued in Mazhai Village, Cuimiao Town, Xingyang City, Zhengzhou, where 67 people were stranded in floodwaters reaching five meters (approximately 16.4 feet), according to the brigade.

The second clip taken on Tuesday night shows firefighters rescuing four students in Xiaoliuqiao Village, Longhu Town, Xinzheng City, Zhengzhou, where floodwaters reached 1.1 meters (approximately 3.6 feet), the brigade wrote in a caption.

Elsewhere in Zhengzhou, the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University transferred about 600 critically injured patients from their facility after severe flooding caused a power outage on Tuesday evening, according to local media.
