Firefighters Work Through the Night as California's Route Fire Grows to 5,000 Acres

The Route Fire, which had burned 5,208 acres in Los Angeles County by Thursday, September 1, was at zero percent containment, according to the latest Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) update.

The fire started on Wednesday, according to Cal Fire. The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station issued evacuation alerts in the area in response.

Video posted by the Quick Reaction Force, which they said was filmed in Los Angeles County on Wednesday and early Thursday, shows the blaze.
