Seven firefighters were injured while working to extinguish the Saumos fire, which burned more than 3,600 hectares (8,895 acres), in Saumos, in southwestern France, by Wednesday, September 14, according to official reports.
Officials said that windy, hot, and dry weather conditions made firefighters’ work difficult.
